Whenever I come back home I always say that I go through this "middle bit of depression". Which is highly dramatic and terrible, but don't you ever feel the same way?
Back to work, school, being an adult, and all the responsibilities that come with that.... Wah wah waaaaah.
To turn this around.. I like to take mini day trips to cool places with some friends, that aren't too far from home and not so expensive.
1. Big Sur
Take a drive down the coast and go hiking at Pfeiffer State park. There's this cool trail called The Gorge, that I like to hike. It's a pretty easy hike, and at the end there's a place to swim and relax.
2. Monterey/Carmel
There's nothing better than having a beach day with your friends. Take a swim, or catch some waves by going surfing. Or if you don't know how, like me, go boogie boarding. It's just as fun, and maybe even cooler (at least that's what I tell myself) than surfing.
Then, end the night with a bonfire and some s'mores.
3. San Francisco
What isn't there to do in the city?
There's so much to do and so easy to get to with the muni. Here's a few suggestions:
Hike up Coit tower and check out the city views.
Check out the museums
Walk the Golden Gate Bridge.
Or take it easy and go shopping in the city?
Whatever you decide to do, you won't be disappointed. And it will definitely help you kick your bit of blues.
